The area is called Cabopino because even more then other areas in Marbella this area is completely covered with pine trees. The area consists of a beachside area around the marina and a hillside area surrounding the 18 holes Cabopino golf course. Cabopino is located around 10 km eastwards from the centre of Marbella. It marks the eastern border of the Marbella municipality.
